The now famous destination of Los Cabos started out as a small fishing village with one or two hotels that got the attention of movie stars many decades ago. What was remote and pristine, only known among the who’s who circles for the longest time has expanded dramatically over the last twenty years. While some lament the growth and development as taking away from the essence of the place it has also propelled the luxury aspect as top quality brands vie for the highest honors and recognition in customer service. From luxury residential developments such as El Dorado to world class hotel brands such as One and Only, Four Seasons and Rosewood, there are many options to experience luxury at its finest.
Recently the World Travel and Tourism Council gave Los Cabos the stamp of approval for sanitary and hygiene measures put in place as a response to the coronavirus pandemic. The protocols were developed in collaboration with the World Health Organization, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the International Air Transport Association. This allowed Los Cabos to reopen carefully and welcome people back to its beautiful destination. With a spread out population and a well trained service industry, it is very easy to be at your hotel and have every need attended to carefully, discreetly and comfortably.
One of the highlights of Los Cabos is the plethora of gorgeous beaches scattered around the locale. There are beaches for surfing, beaches for sunning, beaches for dining as well as fishing or spearfishing, snorkeling and more! Recently five beaches were honored with the new government certification of Platinum Beach. Las Viudas, Acapulquito, Santa Maria, El Chileno and Palmilla were all chosen based on their “scenic beauty, environmental excellence, safety, facilities, signage with relevant information on each beach and universal accessibility.” These Platinum Beaches also have the accreditation of Blue Flag Beaches which means they have garbage cans, water, restrooms, lifeguard and first aid present as well as providing information on water quality, a code of conduct and environmental educational activities.
